College of Chemical Engineering at Nanjing Tech University
The College of Chemical Engineering at Nanjing Tech University has a lengthy history, which is descended from the Chemical Engineering Departments of National Central University (1928) and the University of Nanking (1950). The chemical engineering program is one of the earliest programs in China, now among the top three nationwide and top 2% according to the ARWU ranking. Currently, the college has 171 full-time faculty members, over 1100 undergraduates and 1600 graduates. The college hosts three state-level research centers including the State Key laboratory of Materials-Oriented Chemical Engineering, National Engineering Research Center for Special Separation Membranes, and National Center of University Practical Education. The main research areas are membrane materials and membrane processes, green chemical engineering processes, molecular and surface chemical engineering, catalysis and sustainable energy, and new nanomaterials. The college has a long history of excellence in fostering the synergy between fundamental research and industrial applications. In the past a few years, the college was involved in more than fifty national key research projects, majorly from the National 863 Program, National Key R&D Program, National 973 Program, National Natural Science Foundation, and leading companies, received a total research funding of 620 million RMB in the past five years. Our program has graduated more than 20,000 excellent graduates who have used their professional training to address challenges in design, operation, management in chemical engineering and other related fields.
