A delegation headed by Mr. Bert Pauli, Vice Governor of Noord Brabant, the Netherlands visited NanjingTech on April 21 and met with Prof. Jiang Juncheng, Vice-President for discussions of bilateral collaboration in scientific research and cultural exchange.
Prof. Jiang Juncheng first extended his welcome to the Noord Brabant delegation and introduced briefly the history of Nanjing Tech University and its rapid development in recent years under the four guiding strategies of "Talent Cultivation, Synergetic Innovation, Cultural orientation and Global Engagement". He said that on the ground of the 22-year sister-province relationship between Jiangsu and Noord Brabant, the research collaboration between NanjingTech and research institutions in Noord Brabant like Holst Center has been very productive and Mr. Bert Pauli's visit would further promote the understanding of each other and all round cooperation between NanjingTech and Noord Brabant research institutions.
Vice Governor Bert Pauli expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of NanjingTech and introduced Noord Brabant, the second largest province with a population of 2.43 million and one of the most industrialized provinces which is home to many multi-national corporations like the PHILPS Corporation. He said that innovation is the key to development and to integrate scientific research and industries is extremely important to today’s advanced manufacturing. He introduced Noord Brabant's cooperation with research institutions and industries in different countries in smart framing, biotechnology, new materials and new energy. Bert Pauli said that the collaboration between Noord Brabant and Jiangsu has been very successful and Noord Brabant plans to carry out more in-depth cooperation with Jiangsu universities. The collaboration between Holst Center and Nanjing Tech University would further promote the joint research efforts between Noord Brabant and Jiangsu.
Both sides reached extensive consensus on bilateral collaboration in scientific research, joint research platforms and development of related products after in-depth discussions
