President HUANG Wei visited the University of Munster on April 15thand 16thand signed strategic inter-institutional Memorandum of Understanding with Prof. Dr. Jörg Becker, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Quality Assurance after fruitful discussions on topics of common interests.
Prof. Dr. Jörg Becker introduced the over 200-year history of WWU, one of the German leading research universities with international reputation that has produced a large number of notable science, political and entrepreneurial people including two Nobel Laureates, tenLeibniz Prizer winnersand one Humboldt Prize winner.
President Huang introduced to WWU the centennial history of Nanjing Tech University and its latest development. As one of the first group of the 14 "2011 Plan" universities, NanjingTech is making leaping development on its new journey of building Frist-class Discipline and First-class Uuniversity through innovative reforms and global engagement. As President Huang pointed out, Nanjing is a kernel city that aggregates science and technology development in the Yangtze River Delta and NanjingTech has quite a few national research centers and international cooperation platforms and considerable expertise in technology transformation, there is plentiful scope for the collaboration between two universities.
Both universities have agreed to expedite the inter-institutional cooperation starting with research collaborations in advanced energy, nano-technology and bio-technology and promote the student and faculty exchange between two universities. President Huang's visit to WWU further strengthens NanjingTech's partnership with German universities in its global engagement.
