Nanjing Tech University signed an agreement with Nature Publishing Group, part of Springer Nature, on March 1stto co-publish a new open access journalFlexible Electronics, a newNature PartnerJournal (npj) with the aim to build up a top interdisciplinary platform in flexible electronics for scientists to share and promote research and applications.
Attendees of the signing ceremony include a delegation of 11 from Nature Publishing Group includingMr. Steven Inchcoombe, President of Nature Publishing Group, Ms. Charlotte Liu, President of Springer Nature, Greater China, Dr. Nick Campbell, Executive Editor ofNature& Director of Nature Publishing Group, Greater China and leadership of Nanjing Tech University.

These journals are the benchmark of global research and the most important platforms that report the latest research achievements in physics, biotechnology, chemistry, material sciences and medicine.
In the recent decade, China has achieved multiple growth in such indicators as R&D intensity, output and impact of science and technology journal papers. The overall science and technology of China has shifted to more focus on increase of quality rather than the proliferation of quantity.Since NanjingTech was officially selected as one of the first batch of "2011 Plan" universities in 2013, Nanjing Tech University has achieved leaping development under the four guiding strategies of "Talent Recruitment, Synergetic Innovation, Cultural Orientation and Global Engagement" and has started its new journey of building "the first-class university and first-class discipline"through innovations in system and mechanism.
Nanjing Tech University would strengthen its collaboration with Nature Publishing Group on the basis of the bilateral agreement, combine Nature Publishing Group’s expertise in academic promotion and NanjingTech’s strength in innovation and entrepreneurship and bring the achievements of world frontier research to NanjingTech and Jinagsu.
Prof. Huang Wei was convinced that the joint efforts of NanjingTech and Nature Publishing Group would help Jiangsu build the industry and technology innovation centers with global impact and advanced manufacturing industries with international competitiveness, facilitate Jiangsu scientists and research institutions in their involvement in the global competition and contribute to the progress of science and technology of China and the world.

npj Flexible Electronics,which is expected toopen for submissions in May 2016, will publish original papers, review articles and short communications to reflect the latest breakthrough and developments taking place in all aspects of flexible electronics, especially in advanced flexible materials, flexible optoelectronic devices, novel phenomena related to flexible devices, advanced fabrication techniques of flexible devices and their applications.
Nature Partner Journals (npj) are a new series of online open access journals published by Springer Nature in collaboration with world-renowned international partners, which bring high-quality, peer-reviewed original research to the global scientific community. Prior to signingnpjFlexible Electronics with NanjingTech, Springer Nature has partnered respectively with one research institute and two universities in publishing three Nature Partner Journals in China.
