The First NanjingTech-NTU Bilateral Workshop, under the guidance and support of Prof. Freddy Boey, Deputy President and Provost of Nanyang Technological University, was successfully held from January 15th to 16th in Nanjing Tech University. Academician and President Huang Wei participated in the two-day workshop from the very beginning to the end. Ten prominent researchers from NTU together with their counterparts in NanjingTech held intensive discussions and seminars to probe into the such frontier research fields like advanced energy and materials, perovskite battery and LED, functional nano-materials and graphene quantum dots.
President Huang introduced, in his concise but comprehensive opening speech, the origin and purpose of this workshop and extended his warm welcome and sincere gratitude to the NTU delegation. He recalled his own research experience in Singapore when young and the all-round strategic China-Singapore partnership which had laid solid foundation for the collaboration between two countries in science, technology and higher education. He said that NTU achieved leaping development in a few decades and rocketed to 13th in the QS Ranking 2015. NTU's global vision, talent aggregation, courageous investment and efficient system are what NanjingTech endeavors to model on. President Huang also introduced NanjingTech latest achievements such as the excellence performance in the mid-term evaluation of our Synergetic Innovation Center and the official authorization of the International Joint Research Center of Flexible Optoelectronics. He encouraged NanjingTech faculty and students to continue their efforts to promote globalization for greater achievement.
This bilateral workshop, as described by Prof. Wang Junling from NTU, is another milestone in the deepening collaboration between NanjingTech and NTU. Both universities will strengthen their partnership under the framework of the NanjingTech-NTU Joint Research and Development Center and strive together for a brighter future.
