Sponsored by China Civil Engineering Society Education Committee, and undertaken by NJUT, the Ninth Deans' (Directors') Seminar for Civil Engineering College of National Universities, whose topic is "Research and Practice of Reform for the High Education of Civil Engineering in China", was held in Nanjing International Conference Hotel, a splendid hotel in eastern suburb in Nanjingon November1st.

450 representatives from the colleges of civil engineering, architectural engineering, traffic and highway engineering, including guest speakers, from the Teaching Supervisory Committee for Civil Engineering and Professional Steering Committee attended the seminar. Prof. Shen Zuyan, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, gave an academic report on Critical Thinking for Creative Talents in Civil Engineering. Prof. Yuan Si gave a speech of The Research and Practice to Qualitative Analysis of Structure Mechanics, and Prof. Sun Weiming delivered a report of The Reform and Innovation to Mode of Nurturing Talents in Civil Engineering. There are 14 academic reports displaying great achievements in higher education of civil engineering.

In the afternoon, the delegates visited Jiangpu Campus, as well as the key labs of disaster prevention in the college of civil engineering. After that, they appreciated the friendship games between SKNST and National Softball Team in great interest.
